LED Strip Voltage Drop: Diagnosis and Fixes
Dim tails have one cause and three fixes — plus the design habits that prevent recurrence.
01Symptom
The last metres of a long run are visibly dimmer or warmer-tinted than the start.
02Diagnose
Measure voltage at the feed and at the tail. A drop beyond ~5% confirms line loss, not a strip fault.
03Three fixes
Feed every ~5 m back to the trunk. Move the driver close to the load. Increase conductor size. Layout beats buying better strip.
04Prevent recurrence
Run the load-per-run and drop calculation before ordering — our calculator guide walks both.
05Next step
